The Imperfect Project

Unfortunately, in an imperfect world you have to share!  Not the best picture (with the black bird being a bit out of focus), but I liked it because it looks like they are having a conversation “MY food”!  Sharing

  1. In Avian Land size is unimportant, I have seen tiny Lorikeets stand up to a magpie when food is around. Dont recognize the spotted dinosaur but the black one looks like a starling and they are related to velociraptors. Great stand off shot

    • The spotted bird is a Northern Flicker (a member of the woodpecker family). They are migrating thru right now, we rarely see them at the feeder except for during the Spring and sometimes Autumn seasons. The Starlings usually win the food war, but right now I am putting my money on the Flicker! 🙂

  2. The postures of both birds are really interesting and different. I agree, it’s like a conversation. Fun picture, Tammy, even with the focus issue.. What kind of bird is the larger one?

    • Thanks Julie! The larger one is a Northern Flicker (a member of the woodpecker family). They are migrating thru right now, we rarely see them at the feeder except for during the Spring and sometimes Autumn seasons.
